  • BMWRSM Meeting minutes

    August 6, 2011

Jim Fiske, Club President, brought the meeting to order at 09:35. The meeting was held at Jean & Bill Parker’s home in Bowdoin. Jean & Bill provided a very appreciated breakfast including a very nice breakfast lasagna. All members greatly appreciated the time and effort necessary to host the club.

    OFFICER’S Reports:
The Club President began the meeting, the July meeting minutes were approved and we moved on to the treasurers report

Tim Sheehan, Club Treasurer, reported that after all of the numbers were accounted for the club made money on the 2011 Downeast Rally even with the $850 dollars we owe the IRS considered. The $850 is the cost of getting registered as a non-profit. Tim reviewed the clubs finances for the general club fund and the rally fund, both in good shape.

Joe Saunders was not in attendance; therefore, no 50/50 this month.

Jim Salisbury, our VP, provided a great door prize, tools & a tool box, that was awarded by conducting a drawing. Ken is the proud winner.

Jim Fiske noted that the Black Diamond Rally in the Pocono’s is September 9-11 for all interested in attending.

Main item of business coming is the new BMW rules for use of the roundel in the club logo’s. Bottom line is that have to redo our logo to get into compliance, again. Ed Perry, Leah Mahoney have graciously volunteered to work this task and bring ideas to the directors and club. All ideas are welcome

    MEMBER Reports
Bill Parker noted that he had the name of an owner of a 1991 R100GS in Utica NY if anyone is interested. Both Bill and Bob Griffin have seen this bike with only 13,000 miles

Kenny Wing is offering to host the club at his camp on Longstaff Lake. More to come.

The annual Owlhead Transportation Museum bike weekend is September 3 & 4 this year.

Club members described their ride around the Great Lakes. What a great trip.

Brief discussion on our next club meeting scheduled for the 2nd weekend, as the first is Labor Day weekend, tentatively scheduled at this time. Final club decision to be posted on our website.

A motion to adjourn, a second was received and the meeting was adjourned by our Club President.

    Respectfully Submitted,
    Steve Garrett, Secretary
