  • BMWRSM Meeting minutes

    November 5, 2011

Jim Fisk, Club President, brought the meeting to order at 09:36.  The meeting was held at Cole Farm Restaurant in Gray, Maine. We had 36 members in attendance and most rode to breakfast in a great November morning in Maine.  26 degrees is not cold.

    OFFICERS Reports:

The President’s the first order of business was the October meeting minutes being accepted and approved.

Tim Sheehan, Club Treasurer, presented the treasurers report and current balances

Bob Griffin, membership chair, reported we now have eight-six (86) paying members.  He will begin accepting dues for 2012 during our December meeting.

MOA mileage forms must be postmarked by November 14.  Anyone sending in a mileage form calls or hail down a club officer for his/her signature or ride to Street cycles for dealer approval.

Jim Salisbury review a number of safety issues now that we are into fall; leaves, pine needles and forthcoming black ice.  Include snow for hard core riders.

Coats for Kids collection and delivery to the drop off sites will be at and after the December meeting by our sidecar enthusiast Mike Lydon.  Coats are accepted for all sizes or ages of kids.  It is time to clean the closets and get into the Christmas spirit all in one weekend day.

Jim Fisk reviewed the issues with the Logo and the signet rules as provide by BMW through the MOA.  Deb Dawson provided a thorough review of the rules and options for the club.  Key is that this is the official Club Logo; letterheads, business cards, website use, but we can design graphics for the club rally, (pins, rally shirt & caps, etc.) that are different as long as the BMW signet or BMW corporate logo are not part.

The club voted on the options and the winning logo will be submitted to BMW through the MOA by Jim Fisk.  Thank You Deb for your effort and talent.

Mike Lydon showed pictures of his developing “High Speed” sidecar project.  Mike identified the following website for review for any sidecar interested riders or to see what he is up to.  www.HPsidecar.com.

Dave Esklund, Rally Chair was in attendance, but no report this month.

Joe Saunders was not in attendance, but Bill Parker filled in for him. The 50/50 this month was won by Ken Gaudin.

    GENERAL DISCUSSION

Bruce Graham showed a full-face helmet his son in Wales can purchase for $50 complete with strips commemorating England.  Anyone interested please email or call Bruce.

Our next meeting is our traditional selection of officer’s meeting.  There are openings for Vice President and Secretary.  Failure to attend the meeting does not assure disqualification or is not seen as detrimental to your election.

Jim Fisk brought the meeting to a close with a motion to adjourn.
