BMWRSM Meeting minutes
AUGUST 7, 2010
Meeting commenced at Club President's, Leah Mahoney's home in North
Yarmouth, Maine at 9:45 AM, with 21 members in attendance.
LEAH MAHONEY, Club President opened the meeting by requesting
introductions of those attending and a motion for approval of the minutes
of the July 10, 2010 meeting. Motion approved unanimously. She brought up
the member request for name tags for all members and designation name tags
for Club Officers, and the need to address at a Board Meeting. There were
enough (5) Club board members in attendance and a board meeting was
scheduled for post club meeting today.
Treasures Report: Presented by Leah Mahoney. No change in accounts.
Amounts in each account posted in today's Board Meeting Minutes. The need
for a candidate to take over Club Treasurer's position by the end of this
year was also reported.
Membership: One new member, Mike Day, introduced himself during
club member's introductions at the start of the meeting
RA Rally in Vermont July 29 thru Aug 1 well attended by our club
members.
Club Positions: A job description needed for each club position.
Each individual in a Club Officers position needs to address this issue
with the President and Vice President of the Club.
Ride Boss, Jim Salisbury reported United Sidecar Rally on July 8-11
was well attended by Nation wide United Sidecar Association membership.
The Balsams Ride will be on Saturday August 15th with if needed, a rain
date of the next day. See Web Site for start place in Gray.
Owls Head Ride will be the 4th of September. Ride will start at the Copper
Kettle in Topsham.
Steve Garrett mentioned the Togus VA Hospital car show next weekend. All
proceeds to the patient rec-fund.
Safety, James Nice mentioned the recent thunderstorms and the need
to be extremely careful if caught in a storm riding. It was mentioned that
if power goes out to be safe at intersections by making a full stop where
traffic signals are inoperative.
Charlie McPhail said if stung by a bee or wasp while riding a simple
solution of baking soda and water will neutralize the sting.
Picnic at Mount Blue on Aug 29 needs RSVP to Club President by Aug
23.
Jim Salisbury reported if baked goods are needed, Morning Glory Bakery in
Weld has outstanding Baked Goods. Leah Mahoney will contact them for the
picnic needs.
Web Master: Leah Mahoney reported that Shawn Blair has requested
the need for a "Professionally" created site and improvements. Jim Fisk
said he would look into The Site used by the New Zealand BMW Riders that
he belongs to, and who may have created it.
Club VP, Jim Fisk, volunteered Director, Howard Feller to address Clubs
Non-Profit status with IRS.
Next Month's meeting, September 4th, will be held at Cole's Farm in Gray
at 8:30 AM with parking at the rear of the facility.
